Types of plastic

PUR Teknik primarily works in polyurethane (PUR) plastic materials.

Polyurethane (PUR) can be used in foamed or non-foamed condition and it has endless ways of use. It can be used alone or together with other materials such as steel, fiberglass or other plastic materials. PUR Teknik contributes to tailored solutions adapting each customer’s needs.

Polyurethane (PUR)
is a group of plastic materials which is characterized by its content of urethane or urethane diversions.

Polyurethane (PUR) is used in following materials:

·
        Massive hardened plastic
·
Cell plastic (stiff, half stiff or flexible)
·
        Massive thermoplastic Elastomer
·
        Adhesive materials or glue
·
        Joint material
·
        Coatings and paint
·
        Elastic fibers and rope

Possibilities

The chemical composition of polyurethane makes it easy to design the final products hardness and density. You may use closed or open cells and it is possible to make very slow burning types of foam.

Characteristics
Polyurethane (PUR) has endless possibilities of use. Flexible PUR cell foam may have large elasticity and high energy and sound absorption. This type of PUR is used for furniture cushions and mattresses but it can be formed for car and plane seats as well as sports articles or sound and vibration dampers.

PUR integral foam
is characterized by an inner kernel with a clear cell structure and low density surrounded by an almost massive coating with high density – an inborn sandwich structure.

Integral foam is perfect for detailed castings and are used for furniture, armrests and upholster on steering wheels, dashboards in cars and covering in planes.

Stiff PUR cell foam
has a high strength and low weight. It is very fire retardent. It is the perfect material for insulating as it is easy to handle and form. It is used for insulating of buildings, insulating of refrigerators and chock absorbing packings.

Half stiff cell foam
has open cells and is much harder than the flexible types. It does not have a massive surface. This material are used for door panels, sound dampers and floor coating.

PUR massive hardening foam
has many possibilities of use as it can be formed in many functionally and aesthetic ways. This makes advanced creations possible.

The foam is used for dash boards, car body parts, cabinets for electronic and mechanical instruments.
